About the Restore

The ReStore accepts donations of new and used building materials and fixtures from a variety of sources, and resells those materials at bargain prices. The ReStore provides an outlet for local materials recycling and landfill diversion activities. Since its inception in 1999, the ReStore has built 12 Habitat houses and diverted more than 420 tons from our local landfill.

The Habitat ReStore  is the building material recycling center for Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity. The operation accepts donations of new and used building materials and fixtures from a variety of sources; uses these materials whenever possible in the construction of Habitat homes; and resells the balance of materials through its retail operation at bargain prices.

As the costs of building materials escalate, housing maintenance and improvements become increasingly unaffordable. Habitat's ReStore  addresses this problem by providing good, quality building materials at reduced, prices as well as supporting the housing projects of the local affiliate.
