President/Executive Director

Cynthia J. Staley

With a total of 27 years in the nonprofit field, Cynthia Staley has served as President and Executive Director of Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity for 20 years. Under her leadership, the Habitat affiliate has grown to serve six counties, and more than 400 families around the world. Cynthia serves on the Habitat for Humanity International Executive Task Force, which is working to shape the future of the nonprofit. She is a past member of the Habitat Texas Board of Directors, and continues to serve on the Habitat Texas Leadership Summit Steering Committee. To assure that everyone has a decent place to live, Cynthia often serves on local and regional housing panels, and advocates for affordable housing and disaster recovery efforts on local, state and national levels.

ReStore Manager

James Fikac

James Fikac is the ReStore Manager and has been with us since 2018. He was born and raised in Victoria, left the area for a while but has made Victoria his home. James attended Stroman High School and Victoria College. “Habitat is about helping and growing our community. Especially the ReStore where all proceeds benefit the mission of the Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity.”

Advancement Assistant*

Cassie Pustejovsky

Cassie Pustejovsky is our Advancement Assistant and began working at Habitat in 2018. She has a BS in Animal Science from Texas A&M University and is a Victoria native. In her free time she loves to read, listen to music, watch moves, bake, and enjoy the outdoors. “I love the mission of Habitat and being part of an awesome team that makes a difference in our community.”

Repair Construction Manager*

Lisa Jones

Lisa Jones is the Repair Construction Manager and has been with Habitat since November of 2018. She has a BA in History from Texas A&M University and is from Refugio, TX. She spends her free time with her kids and family, cooking, traveling, and doing stained glass. “I enjoy working for Habitat because it allows me to serve my community in a unique way while bringing joy to so many.”

Director of Operations

Ashley Jett

Ashley Jett is our Director of Operations and joined the Habitat team in 2018. During her time at GCHFH, she led the Refugio team in helping over 75 families recover from Hurricane Harvey. She has a BA in Business Administration with an Accounting Emphasis from Fresno Pacific University. She is currently pursuing a MA in Nonprofit Management from the University of Houston Downtown. She is originally from Fresno, CA but has lived in Victoria since 2012. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, staying active, and taking adventures with her husband. “I enjoy working for GCHFH because it is a ministry that works alongside our homeowners, volunteers, community, and donors to provide affordable and decent housing to individuals and families in need. I have seen our mission in action and countless lives changed. I am humbled and thankful for the opportunity that the Lord has given me to be a part of such an incredible organization.”

Family Services Coordinator

Cheryl Johnston

Cheryl Johnston is the Family Services Coordinator and has been with us since 2016. She is originally from Uvalde, TX and she enjoys spending her free time with her family. “To be able to help families through the homeowner process and to see them get a new home is such a blessing and so rewarding. To see God’s love shine through the mission of Habitat is so amazing.”

Volunteers Coordinator & Community Programs

Lisa Kainer

Lisa Kainer is our Volunteer Coordinator and is in charge of Community Programs. She began working at Habitat in 2018. She attended Memorial High School and Victoria College. In her free time she loves spending time with her family and friends. “I enjoy working with the homeowners and volunteers at GCHFH. I love our mission and helping others.”

Donations Ambassador

HW McRae

HW has worked in the Habitat ReStore for over 6 years. Born in Victoria, he moved to Gonzalez and attended Gonzalez High School. In his spare time, HW enjoys hunting. “I like working at Habitat because it makes me feel good helping people.”

Advancement Director

Holly Marshall

Holly Marshall is our Advancement Director and began working for Habitat in November of 2019. She has a BA in Business Administration and Management and is currently working toward her CFRE. She is originally from McAllen, TX but moved to Victoria in 2019. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves the outdoors, whether it’s soaking up the sun by the pool or working in her flower beds or playing with the family goats! “Habitat allows me to work in the nonprofit world, using my gifts to serve God and others. I am looking forward to building relationships, hope, and homes alongside Habitat families.”

Construction Manager*

April Sobotik

April Sobotik is our Construction Director and has been working at Habitat since 2018. She is from Hallettsville, TX and enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and outdoor activities. “I enjoy working at Habitat because of our missions. It’s nice working with the community and building safe homes for the children.”

Warehouse Associate

Ricci DeLeon

Ricci has worked in the Habitat ReStore since January of 2015. He was born in Cuero,TX and lived in the surrounding counties growing up. He attended Bloomington High School and graduated in 1998. In his spare time he likes fishing, working on cars, and cleaning his guns. “I like to work at Habitat because the work I do goes to helping others in our community.”

Office Manager

Mary Ramos

Mary Ramos is our Office Manager and has been working at Habitat since January 2021. Mary was born in Houston but raised in Victoria, TX. Mary graduated from Stroman High School and later attended Victoria College. Mary enjoys baking, floral decorating as well as being a part of the activities at her church. “The love of the Lord is shown through the work that is done here at Habitat.”
