building hope for heroes
Habitat is asking for donations to support our local folks supporting local restaurants while feeding our local heroes.

using local restaurants
Many of the essential workers – nurses, city employees, police officers, HEB, local restaurants, and more – have supported Golden Crescent Habitat by working on the job site or by of providing donated meals for volunteers. Now it is our time to return the favor and help them, but this big task can’t be done alone. Join Habitat as we Build Hope for Heroes in feeding local heroes using local restaurants
Through donations and volunteers, we will reach out to locally owned restaurants to prepare meals for essential workers keeping our community up and running. Building Hope for Heroes thanks people working behind the scenes and, at the same time, supports locally owned restaurants.
Please donate to Building Hope for Heroes.
Golden Crescent Habitat has set up a specific bank account to facilitate this program. ALL of the funds contributed will be spent exclusively on meals for local responders in the six counties Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity serves – Victoria, Goliad, DeWitt, Jackson, Lavaca and Refugio counties.
Your support of Building Hope for Heroes benefits our communities in three ways:
- It thanks the often-unrecognized responders whose work makes it possible for the rest of us to stay safely quarantined at this time.
- It supports locally owned restaurants that are so important to the overall economic health of our cities and towns.
- It ensures that the employees of these restaurants can continue to support their families.
If a monetary donation isn’t possible, please consider volunteering to deliver these meals. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer.
If you would like to recommend a locally owned restaurant or a local responder group in your community, please contact email@example.com with your recommendations.
Building Hope for Heroes has four components:
Community Members – that means YOU! – donate money, recommend specific responder groups, volunteer to pick up and deliver meals, email thank you notes to be delivered with the meals. (This would be a great activity for children at home right now!) We would love to hear from people in every county we serve – Victoria, DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson, Lavaca and Refugio County for recommended local restaurants and responder groups.
Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity – collects donations and coordinates ordering and delivery of meals along with thank you notes to identified responder groups in the six counties we serve.
Caleb Shaw of Shaw Realty is leading the team identifying groups for meals, and manages verification paper trail of these deliveries.
Robby Burdge of KCI will provide third party accountability for funds expenditure.
THRIVEFUEL DIGITAL MARKETING is providing marketing and promotional services for this effort.
